What is Collections on Behalf Of (COBO)?

How Collections on Behalf Of lets platforms provision collection accounts for their own customers.

Collections on Behalf Of, or COBO, lets platforms, marketplaces, and fintechs receive funds on behalf of their own customers, whether those customers are individuals or businesses. Tazapay can configure a virtual account or stablecoin wallet for each customer.

High-level flow

1. Create an Entity for your customer, either individual or business.
2. Set up a virtual account or stablecoin wallet for that entity.
3. Share the account details with whoever is paying your customer.
4. Tazapay receives the funds and attributes them to the right entity automatically.
5. Your platform is notified through collect webhook events.

How this differs from your own accounts

A collection account under COBO belongs to a specific entity you created, so every payment into it is attributed to that customer without you having to match references by hand. Your own business accounts, and your customers' accounts, sit in the same dashboard but under separate entity lists.

COBO is API-led. Entities are created through the Create Entity API rather than in the dashboard, so this is an integration your engineering team sets up rather than something you configure by clicking through screens.
