# Why is my payout on compliance hold, and what should I do?

## Why a Tazapay payout goes on compliance hold and the documents that help release it faster.

If your payout is on compliance hold, here is what you need to know and do:

1. **Check for an RFI (Request for Information).** In many cases, a compliance hold is triggered because Tazapay's compliance team or a downstream banking partner has raised an RFI. You will receive an email with the RFI details. Check your inbox (including spam/junk folders) for an email with a subject line similar to *Compliance Query || \[Payout ID\]*.
2. **Respond to the RFI promptly.** It is important to respond to the RFI as quickly as possible. Delays in responding can result in the payout failing. Always reply to the RFI email and ensure that **compliance-rfi@tazapay.com** is included in the *To* field of your response. You may keep other contacts in CC, but the dedicated compliance RFI inbox must be the primary recipient.
3. **Provide complete documentation.** Make sure your RFI response includes all requested supporting documents (e.g., invoices, proof of transaction purpose). Incomplete responses may result in an additional RFI being raised, which will further delay processing.
4. **Contact Tazapay Support if needed.** If you have already responded to the RFI and your payout is still on hold, reach out to Tazapay Support with your Payout ID so the compliance team can check the status and expedite the review where possible.

**Important notes:**

- If your payout was released from compliance hold but subsequently failed, this may be because the payout was not funded within the required time limit. In this case, you will need to retry the payout.
- For **local payouts**, Tazapay is currently unable to provide tracking references such as UETR, IMAD, or OMAD. If a UETR or MT103 is a mandatory requirement from the beneficiary's bank, the payout should be raised as a **Swift** payment instead.
- If you receive multiple RFI emails for the same transaction, this may be due to a technical issue. You only need to respond to one of the emails. Tazapay's compliance team will consolidate the responses.
- Resolution timelines for RFIs raised by banking partners are governed by the partner's internal processes and cannot always be expedited by Tazapay.
