How do I map an incoming/inbound payment to the correct outgoing transaction?
How to match an inbound payment on Tazapay to the right outgoing transaction for clean reconciliation.
To have an incoming payment mapped to the correct outgoing transaction, please follow these steps:
- Identify the inbound fund reference. This is typically shown in your transaction alert as the RelatedEntityShortReference (e.g.,
IF-YYYYMMDD-XXXXXX). - Locate the corresponding checkout ID(s) (e.g.,
chk_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) that the incoming payment should be mapped to. These are the transaction IDs on the Tazapay platform that correspond to the expected payment. - Contact Tazapay Support and provide the following details:
- The inbound fund reference (e.g.,
IF-YYYYMMDD-XXXXXX) - The checkout ID(s) to which the payment should be mapped
- The payment amount and currency
- Any relevant sender details or payment references
- The inbound fund reference (e.g.,
- If a single incoming payment needs to be split across multiple checkout IDs (i.e., the payment covers multiple transactions), please indicate this clearly and provide all relevant checkout IDs along with the respective amounts for each.
- Tazapay's support team will process the mapping and confirm once it is completed.
Note: If you are unsure which checkout ID corresponds to an incoming payment, you can look up the transaction in your Tazapay dashboard using the sender details, payment amount, currency, and value date. If you need to investigate an incoming payment that originated from your banking partner (e.g., a return or rejected payment), you may need to provide additional details such as the UETR, transaction reference number, payment amount, currency, value date, and beneficiary details to your bank for further investigation before the mapping can be completed on Tazapay's side.
